GLI Finance celebrates wins in the ‘Influential Voice in FinTech’ and ‘Encourager for SME Growth’ categories at Innovate Finance’s Diversity Awards

GLI Finance, a leading investor in the global alternative finance sector, is delighted to announce it has won in the ‘Influential Voice in FinTech’ and ‘Encourager for SME Growth’ categories at the inaugural Diversity Awards organised by Innovate Finance as part of Innovate Finance Week and London Tech Week.

The awards celebrate firms that have been at the forefront of the FinTech debate and through harnessing innovation have been able to disrupt traditional business models within the financial services sector, delivering much needed capital to high growth SMEs.

Commenting, Geoff Miller, CEO of GLI Finance said:

“We’re delighted at the success of GLI Finance in both award categories. To be viewed as a leader in such a high profile and important debate is exactly where we want to be. Not only does it highlight the unique position that our business occupies in the credit ecosystem but also the wider opportunity for the industry to drive more educated debate around the sector’s future.”

Louise Beaumont, GLI Finance’s Head of Public Affairs and Marketing, commented:

“This kind of recognition is hugely rewarding for the team at GLI Finance and testament to the hard work that has taken place across our entire portfolio of platforms. It is however, just the start, in terms of ensuring the FinTech debate receives the degree of profile it deserves with all stakeholders be they politicians, regulators or media. The world has woken up to the limitations of traditional players and the vast potential of new market entrants and we must continue to build on this momentum.

“We must also continue to be the industry’s standard-bearer for institutional investors in order to continue driving the scalability of the sector and developing a regulatory framework that supports this. Finally we’d like to thank Innovate Finance not only for their support and recognition, but also because they themselves have played a huge role in ensuring FinTech is at the centre of the debate on the UK’s broader economic recovery.”
